Despite all the bad press he has been generating these days, Andre Villas-Boas has reason to cheer again.
The Blues were able to end the unbeaten run of Premier League leaders Manchester City who were beaten 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night despite an early goal from Mario Balotelli.
Balotelli struck just 98 seconds into the game, but Chelsea were level on 34 minutes when Raul Meireles brilliantly volleyed home a timely cross from Daniel Sturridge.
Gael Clichy was sent off on 58 minutes for a second yellow card.  And Frank Lampard's late penalty sealed the victory in favour of Chelsea, marking City's first defeat in this competition.
As of now, City lead the table by just two points ahead of neighbours Manchester United.
